Running Yoga for RunnersRunning, walking and athletic activities are really beneficial, but may also result in musculoskeletal imbalances, stiffness, injury and loss of energy.

Yoga increases both stability and mobility, strengthening core, lower and upper body in a balanced way. It enhances stamina, improves respiratory capacity and vigor, resulting in greater confidence, composure and mental focus.

Iyengar yoga is reasonably rigorous and precise with particular emphasis on correct alignment, achieved where necessary by appropriate use of the props available in the studio, including ropes.

Steve Wilder, a certified teacher with the BKS Iyengar Yoga Institute, who has around 25 years of yoga experience the past eight of which have been focused on teaching is presenting a free introductory Iyenagar Yoga class aimed at runners, walkers and others who are quite active and want greater stability and mobility.

The class is being held at 53 Johannesburg Road, Lyndhurst. A fully equipped yoga studio, to enjoy maximum benefit with availability of all props (opposite Eden College, around 4 Kms from N3 – Modderfontein Road turnoff / 6 Kms from Gilloolys Car Park.)

The date of the class is Thursday 18th August at 18:30
