A Total Solar Eclipse will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 and will be visible in a narrow corridor through northern India, eastern Nepal, northern Bangladesh, Bhutan, the northern tip of Myanmar, central China and the Pacific Ocean, including the Ryukyu Islands, Marshall Islands and Kiribati.

Cancer New Moon Total Solar Eclipse

This Cancer New Moon provides an opportunity to resolve familial wounds. Reflecting back to the eclipse that occurred on June 22, can provide you with insights as to the issues that may re-arise and potentially come to closure, during this time.

The New Moon solar eclipse in Cancer will be a time of emotional renewal or upheaval, depending on how you deal with this powerful energy. It occurs in the 29th (last) degree of Cancer, also known as the karmic or anaretic degree, which intensify the characteristics of that sign.

Make the final lesson it has to teach before it transits into the next sign, count. Cancer rules emotional expression, so during the next two weeks or so, you may experience some inner volatility that rattles your comfort zone. Stay centered.

Pursue the past

Cancer is the most sentimental sign of the zodiac. As such, it can prompt you to delve into (or wallow in) the past. Memories will arise to heal or haunt you over the next few weeks. In a positive way, a foray into the past can bring up emotional issues you need to resolve. But it can also keep you stuck in a rut. The trick is to examine your inner life without getting trapped in the past. Clinging to people, habits and attitudes that make you feel secure is a surefire way to halt your personal growth. Avoid being drawn into the emotional dramas of those around you.

Nurture your soul

Since Cancer is the sign of motherhood, you may suddenly feel a longing to return to a childlike state and be cared for. If you find yourself needing a break from the demands of work, kids or even your partner, take some time to nurture yourself. You don’t have to toss out the kids or the spouse – a bubbly soak in the tub might do it – or a night out with friends. Even a stroll along a shady trail can feed your soul. You just need to make the time to do it!
