1 Day Whale and Wellness Retreat

From June to November, the southern right and humpback whales migrate to our bays… a stone’s throw from Fran’s Shala, where I’ll be hosting monthly “Wellness and Whales” day-retreats.This month’s retreat is on 30 August. Join me for a nourishing Saturday at my home-studio in De Kelders, Gansbaai, where we will be sure to set eyes on these gentle giants.
These special day-retreats will unfold in four gently nourishing parts:
Morning Yoga Practice
We’ll begin the day together with a flowing yoga class, tuning into our breath and bodies as we rise with the day. This will be a space to land, soften, and connect deeply within. All levels welcome.
Mid-morning Workshop: Breath + Fascia
The midday workshop will include breathwork and fascia release. I’ll guide you through practical techniques and simple theory to support what we’re doing in our bodies — tools that are supportive for ongoing self-practice. Whether it’s opening through the fascia or learning to breathe more beneficially, the aim is always the same: to feel more empowered, more alive, and more at ease.
Lunch and Whale Watching
Time to enjoy some nourishment at a local seafront cafe, a short walk on the coastal path, with time afterwards to view the whales from shore and connect with the beautiful natural surroundings.
Afternoon Cacao Ceremony
We gather for a gentle Cacao Ceremony. This is a sacred space to reflect, to drop into the heart, and to honour the cycles of nature and spirit. I will guide the ritual cacao drinking, offer some reflections for the month ahead, and weave in the Nahuale energy of the Mayan cosmovision – a path I’ve been initiated into and walk with deep reverence.
