Simple Awareness
“The true significance of staying present is trust. You can trust that existence contains not just the possibility, but the reality of an ideal life. Existence isn’t a blank slate – it is dynamic, blissful, and filled with untold possibilities. To realise this fully, you can begin by practicing simple awareness. Simple awareness is a state that feels relaxed, open, and receptive. Most people feel the very opposite much of the time, thanks to ingrained habits that close the mind, the impact of stress that causes tension, and a fear of change, which makes the mind unreceptive.
Instead of trying to correct every problem head-on, simple awareness effortlessly lets the true self offer a solution. You possess a natural inner resilience that can be restored, until over time, simple awareness will replace what most people experience as being their default – being stressed and distracted.
Another aspect of simple awareness is that you start to connect with the subtle level of feeling. It is subtler to feel love than to feel fear; compassion is subtler than selfishness. The common element in all subtle feelings is that they are blissful. The sweetness of life is imparted, needing nothing but to be here now. Subtle feeling is part of your design.
The purpose at the outset, is simply to turn inward. In time you will begin to recognise the calm, quiet, centred state of simple awareness where intuition and subtle feeling originate.”
