The International Day of Yoga (21st of June) is celebrated in over 150 countries worldwide. For the Johannesburg event on the 16th June at Wanderers Stadium we would like to invite our fellow Johannesburg Yoga community, new and practicing yogis (including children) to join us for a day of yoga, laughter and winter fun.
The event is free and open to absolutely anyone with an interest in yoga (whether you are a regular or it’s your very first time to try it out!). Head over to Webtickets now, to secure your spot for the amazing price of R0 !! Each ticket includes FREE entrance, a hamper with some exciting goodies upon entry and access to all classes and workshops.
On the day there will be several group yoga sessions and workshops, and every activity will be accessible to all levels and ages. You can support the event by joining our 108 sun salutation challenge (donation 108 ZAR) or sponsoring someone to complete the challenge even if you are unable to attend or participate yourself.
As we also celebrate Youth Day in South Africa, there will be a full kids program (including kids yoga and other activities). There will also be vendors offering healthy food/drink options, yoga services, and yoga clothing/props.
9-10.30am: big group yoga class for all ages and levels (taught by Steven from Yoga Works)
11am-12.30pm: various yoga workshops/styles
2-4pm: 108 sun salutation challenge (donation 108 ZAR)
All proceeds of this event will be donated to our beneficiary Dlala Nje, who has been challenging perceptions and creating opportunities in some of Joburg’s most misunderstood areas. They also run a community centre providing a safe learning environment, yoga and other activities to children and youth.
If you are keen to sponsor/support the event or to be a vendor on the day, please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org for more details. We are grateful to Wanderers Sports Medical Centre and Wanderers Stadium for the venue and support!
