“Your Precious Life” – An Introduction to Mindfulness, Meaning and Meditation
Mindfulness is translated from the Pali word “Sati” meaning awareness, attention and remembering to stay aware. The intention of mindfulness is to remain attentive on what really matters and is not a one-size-fits-all remedy. Each of us needs to develop our own practice and unique way to incorporate this into our daily lives. The advantages of a solid mindfulness practice include benefits such as a calmer disposition, focused attention, better mind control and enhanced interpersonal relationships.
In this workshop we discuss the simplicity of this challenging discipline plus the teachings of Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy at our next one-day workshop in Johannesburg. We also share mindfulness case studies from the Himalayas. Let us know if you’d like to join. The workshop is registered with the SA Board of People Practices as a Mindful Leadership workshop and participants will qualify for 6 CPD points.
Our search for more meaning and a better understanding of how to be happier have long been the most important questions we can ask ourselves. Mindfulness offers us a tool with which to address such questions. In this 1-day workshop we will de-mystify mindfulness and help you create momentum for a happier life.
What you will gain from the workshop:
Understanding mindfulness and how to practice it daily
Discovering your personal avenues to meaning
How to develop more clarity of what you want
Better understand your purpose
Facilitators: Klasie Wessels and Sam Sparkes will co-host this workshop. Klasie is the Chairman of the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy SA and has facilitated 28 mindfulness workshops to India and Nepal in the past 6 years. On these journeys people interact with Tibetan monks and philosophers discussing themes such as the meaning and purpose of life and how to create a happier life. He will share some of the leanings from interacting with Tibetan philosophers in this workshop.
