Dr Michael Lan, renowned South African Tai Chi and Qi Gong master, will be presenting a Yi Jin Jing Qi Gong workshop in Somerset West. He will be hosted at the Lourensford Life Retreat Studio on Saturday 24th November 2018.
Time: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
Venue: Life Retreat Studio, Lourensford.

About Dr Michael Lan
Dr Michael Lan, South Africa’s legendary Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong master is a gifted healer who embodies and lives his passion for Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is a global Tai Chi and Qi Gong expert and the official South African representative of World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day. Dr Lan holds a doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been practicing the internal arts of Tai Chi, Qi Gong and meditation for over 25 years.
Dr Lan is based in Hout Bay, Cape Town. He is the founder of Jing-an, his authentic Wellness Sanctuary. Dr Lan has the honour of having worked with some of the world’s great business men and women, politicians, artists and athletes from across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, France, and Africa.
He holds several gold medals from Taiwan and is a formidable leader in his field.
What is the Yi Jin Jing?
This Qi Gong form is literally translated as ‘muscle and tendon changes’.
Yi Jin Jing is a series of movements designed for health and longevity that originated in ancient China.The Yi Jin Jing form is a set of 11 movements. Daily practice of Yi Jin Jing will increase flexibility in muscles, tendons, and all the joints of the arms and legs.
It’s spiralling movements benefit balance,coordination and neurological functions.
Yi Jin Jing can be practiced by anyone looking for a new form of exercise to improve their health and wellbeing. This form is equally beneficial for aiding recovery from illness and injuries. It is low impact and gentle.
