Hridaya School of Yoga 500hr YOGA TEACHER TRAINING – YOGA-AYURVEDA-MANTRA-MEDITATION Programme is a comprehensive training, based on the teachings of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, B.K.S.Iyengar, Vamadeva Shastri – Dr David Frawley, Dr Rolf Sovik, Swami Rama and T.K.V. Desikachar.
Our Teacher Training Programme is rooted in the ancient texts on Yoga, the Yoga Yajnavalkya, the Mandukya Upanishad, the Taittiriya Upanishad, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita and the Vedas.
The student will be taught the original understanding of Yoga as union of the Self with the Divine, that which is ever present and unchanging. Yoga can be seen to be the science of all life and so encompasses all aspects of life, which include mind and body. Yoga in it’s entirety gives us many tools to live a healthy life as well as for healing body and mind.
Our Programme will deepen the students understanding of the origins of Yoga, as said to be the sacred syllable Om, from whence all creation is said to have arisen. We weave together ancient texts on Yoga and bring them alive in order for the student to have an intricate and sensitive understanding of the unity of the Self with the eternal, which is the essence of the teachings on Yoga.
We begin by explanation of the Vedas as the origin of all yoga and proceed to the concepts of the Vedas being “perceived” by the ancient Seers or “Rsis” Rishis while in deep penance and meditation. The student will learn how, through this unfoldment of Om, into various mantras, the Vedas were perceived. The Vedas are the original teachings on yoga. We cover in-depth the history of Yoga, including the understanding of Hiranyagarbha said to be the original Knower of Yoga.
This Teacher Training Programme includes a comprehensive approach to each section namely Yoga, Ayurveda, Mantra and Meditation. Each of the individual sections are complementary to each other and the student will have a broad understanding of the vast scope of Yoga upon completion of this training programme.
The student will be able to apply many tools of Yoga according to his/her clients or students body (doshic) type, mental type (guna) as well as give recommendation on correct diet and lifestyle for Yoga practice.
We deepen into each section giving the student an in-depth understanding of how to incorporate various tools of asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra into a class setting as well as for individualised Yoga
