New Moon at 14* Sagittarius occurs on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 5:37 GMT/ 12:37 EST/ 9:37PST.
After Scorpio, we are ready to quest for the meaning of what we just experienced and use the wisdom we gain to enlarge our vision of Life. Each New Moon provides a balance to what we experienced during the preceding Moon cycle. The Scorpio cycle took us through the task of recognizing and releasing those old, stagnant emotions that keep us bound to past hurts, resentments and wounds. If you released those old emotional hang-ups, then this Sagittarius New Moon will open new vistas of belief and possibility for you.
Sagittarius is the third fire sign of the Zodiac, following the intense flames of Aries and the contained fire of Leo. With Sagittarius, we use our fire to inspire us to widen the gates of our perception, to open to new views and philosophies and to enjoy the freedom that comes from moving forward in life. Sags love to play and move; they’re always on the go. They are truth-seekers and truth-speakers, that don’t like to sit around and read about Truth – they want to go out and experience it; or at least tell you about their truth. Play and explore and discover new truths about yourself and the world.
Mercury will join Pluto hours after this new Moon, taking our thinking to a new level. Old negative thinking can now give way to more practical ways of dealing with work and society. Happening so close to the new Moon, these two energies can help us find practical ways to bring our new impressions, insights and hope into the cultural arena.
Most of the holiday season will be under the shadow of Mercury retrograde. Remember patience is paramount and enjoy the now while you’re waiting. This is a good time to bring out the child within and instead of feeling frustrated that the traffic is crazy, the stores are out of your choice gift or requirement and everyone’s late for Christmas dinner or everything else, sit back, talk with present company, take a deep breath and smile.
The full Moon later this month, on Summer or Winter Solstice, December 21st, is a lunar eclipse, the first of three eclipses in the next month, accelerating transformation. So wherever you are:- Watch what you say and do, now. Who you really are, and what is meaningful to you, what you really care about will be evident.. Step up and show the world who you really are!
