Now is always the best time for peace, let it start with you, now! Peace (Inner and External) is justice and tranquility for all. Peace in the world, peace of mind, in education, in personal safety, tranquility and harmony on all levels.
The five key peace building sectors of our society: humanizing justice systems; empowering community interventions; teaching peace in our schools; enhancing personal and interpersonal supports; and fostering international peace building initiatives.
Peace is when people cooperate and work together to improve the quality of their lives. Issues are resolved amicably; all communities are included. Peace is when: everyone has the power to participate in shaping political decisions and the government is accountable to the people. Inner peace is knowing that you are doing the right thing, action, taking responsibility, service.
Today is the UN International peace day and we, here in Sunny South Africa, sure need peace. Vedic wisdom describes peaceful living as a chariot: Valour and fortitude are its wheels;Truthfulness and virtuous conduct are its banner; Strength, discretion, self-restraint and benevolence are its four horses, Harnessed with the cords of forgiveness, compassion and equanimity…Whoever has this righteous chariot, has no enemy to conquer anywhere.
