There are still a few places available to celebrate this magical day with us: the day will begin at 9.30am with hatha yoga, pranayama (breath work) and yoga nidra (deep relaxation) on the yoga deck, followed by a walking meditation down to the river. Here we mark the spiritual meaning of the Autumn Equinox with silent reflection and a Gratitude ceremony. There will be facilitated sharing of our experiences and insights after which lunch and fresh juices will be served at the tea house which overlooks the river. In the afternoon you are free to walk the labyrinth, visit the meditation gardens, relax with a herbal tea on the tea deck and walk by the river.
Symbolic Autumn
Autumn is a season for balancing light and dark, letting go, and accepting the impermanence of things.
Yoga
Balance: On the autumn equinox, day and night are of equal length. This signals the need to balance the light and dark within us. Far too often, we fear the pain and seek only the pleasure. Yoga practice will call us to connect deeply within our body, heart and mind to shine the light of awareness into those contracted parts of our being.
Meditation
Letting go: As we watch the leaves fluttering to the ground, we’re reminded that nature’s cycles are mirrored in our lives. Autumn is a time for letting go of old habits that no longer serve us. Meditation practice will call us to let go of limiting self-beliefs. As we re-connect to our authentic selves, we access the innate wisdom of the Heart and feel guided by Life.
Gratitude Ceremony
Impermanence: Autumn reminds us of the impermanence of everything. We have experienced the budding life of spring and the abundant flowering of summer. Now the leaves fall and bare branches remind us of the fleeting nature of all things. When we contemplate Autumn’s changes, we cultivate a deeper gratitude for all the beauty that surrounds us.
